We have selected to give our users the option to, restore items, and delete items from the E.V. This allows the user to restore items that have been archived and then transfer these items to another user as a set of email messages. When a message is restored from the E.V. and then re-archived by policy or a manual E.V. store, a second message is created in the archive that is the same as the original message.
This process creates a second message that may not get purged by the user in the future when the message does not have an expiry set. The issue with this process is that for discovery messages may exist that the user thought were deleted from the E.V. archive. Is there a way to have the restore from archive remove the original message since the message is now in the users Email database and eligible for archive depending on the policy for that message.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

If you are restoring an item from a shortcut and it get's rearchived and you have a duplicate then this is unexpected behavior as EV should detect that it already exists in the archive and just change it back to a shortcut
that is unless something is fundamentally changing on the item to make EV believe its a brand new item (perhaps a reply to?)
Unfortunately the only process that has a Delete upon restore is the Export Wizard through the VAC when you specify a folder to export to
