Has anyone come across this? I have been seeing this in my environment on a somewhat frequent. It usually happens when a user selects a group of emails in archive explorer, and restores them to the mailbox.

If you are using Outlook to perform the action through Archive Explorer can you test using a web browser first.
Open the IE browser to the EV server:
http://<evservername>/EnterpriseVault/ArchiveExplorerUI.asp
Attempt the same process to get the error "Unable to update the progress bar text".
Does the error only occur when using Archive Explorer through Outlook or does it occur using the IE browser page also?
Do you have the same issue if you login to the mailbox from a different machine ?

I have seen it happen both through outlook and using the webpage, unfortunately this is not something that happens all the time, so I do not get many opportunities to look into it with more detail.
