The exchange jorunal process

The exchange jorunal process only sends a copy of SMTP email it is not designed to journal calendar items because calendar items are not handeled by the MTA which is the service that sends the duplicate email to the journal mailbox

confused

Hi,

EV should just archive them regardless. EV actually archives all folders in the journal mailbox albeit mostly it's just going to be the Inbox that contains items.  Perhaps the calendar folder has been marked do not archive somehow,or perhaps nothing is getting archived from the journal mailbox??

IN the VAC Right click on the

IN the VAC

Right click on the Archive name and select properties
select the tab Exchange Message Classes

If this does not already exist add IPM.Appointment* and set the description to Calendar items.

restart the journaling task

If you are speaking of the meeting requests and such this is how you turn it on to be archived

Emails are being archived,

Emails are being archived, just not calendar items.  How do I check if the calendar folder has been marked not to archive?

Scanner001:  A properties on a Journal archive does not have the Message Classes tab

 No the Journal Archive, At

 No the Journal Archive,

At the EV site level you select properties

As you see below under Enterprise Vault, then under Directory on EV1 you have the section that is smugged out. Right click on this and select properties. see if the class is setup to be archived
