Archive causes users Outlook to run slooooooowwwwwww

Hi all :)

We are running EV 8 (yeah I know, I will upgrade it in the new year).

It has been deployed for some time now and is running well except for one user.

He uses a laptop and whenever he connects within the office EV starts archiving and it slows outlook right down for at least an hour. He is in the office every day so its not like there are thousands of emails to archive each day.

I have installed the latest (9.02) outlook http addin but it is still the same

Anyone have any suggestions??

thanks

Tracy

My best guess (because it happens to me a lot) is that it's WDS and indexing

Is the client configured for Vault Cache and that is possibly slowing it down? Archiving should not have any effect on the clients speed. Also what version of Outlook is the client running as is it up-to-date? Possible that the client computer has a problem itself. Maybe run a repair on the office install and re-install the EV client on the pc.

Might be worth configuring WDS to not index VC, and see if that helps, just to identify one thing or another.
