Archive folders not showing

Any reason why 2 users with the same permissions on another users archive would not see the same folders? 1 can see all the folders, the other only some of them.

What might cause this?

Do a Right-Click on the archive explorer window in the left pane where the folders are listed and click Refresh . This will refresh the cached view of the archive views

how were the permissions granted?

Both users's permissions are automatically set so inherited from the mailbox permissions.

Already tried the refresh though and it didn't work.

If the user of the original mailbox has put permissions on the folders in Outlook this can affect what they see.

As far as we can see they both see the same folder tree when adding the mailbox to Outlook. It's just archive explorer that differs..

if you try a manual sync, make sure you check the box for folder permissions

When that does not work, on the EV-server, in the EV program files folder, run permissionbrowser.exe (as VSA).

That way, you can check the folders in the mentioned archive, and see exactly what permissions who has on which folder. Might be permission on Outlook set by user.

Sync has run but the folder tree in Archive explorer doesn't reflect the folder tree in Outlook. I.e permissions were granted on individual folders but now those folders are no longer present in Outlook although you can see them in AE. So you can't actually match up the 2 users permissions in Outlook as the folders that differ are no longer there. (hope this makes sense!)

Is it possible to just grant full permissions over the entire archive folder tree for both users (independent of what is granted at Outlook level).

yes, find the archive in the EV console, go to the properties, permissions tab, and add the users

You can't add them they get the permissions automatically as both have access to the Exchange mailbox. Problem is they don't see the same folders in AE..

How do we just assign permissions across all archive folders irrespective of Outlook or inherited permissions from Exchange? There must be a simple way to do this?

yes, very simple and great if they're already in there. check the "grant" box where it says "manually set".
