sounds like she has it set to not create shorcuts. there's a checkbox when you manually archive for that. it's also available in the policy settings.

Hi,

Did you verify that mailbox policy is setup for creating shortcuts after archiving?

We have an environment, similar enough. EV8.0.4, outlook 2007

For us, when you have an unarchived mail, and you click 'Store in Vault', a popup appears, and asks which Vault to store in, Retention category, and a few misc settings. One of those is a checkbox 'Create shortcuts to stored items'.

All these options are greyed out and fixed as per policy. We would have to change it under:

<Site name> | Policies | Exchange | Mailbox | <mailbox policy> | Archiving Actions tab | 'Create shortcut to archived item after archiving' checkbox

In the vault administration console.
