Archiving Virtual Directories

We are starting to plan to implement file system archiving. We have a concern with archiving virtual directories. Our instructor in class stated we may need to modify the timeout on IIS, otherwise he didn’t see a problem. I can’t find any additional information on it. Has anyone successfully archived virtual directories? If so, did you need to take any additional action?

Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, R2, Service Pack 2 and the file system involved is NTFS.   

Our production web server is Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, R2, Service Pack 2.

Our test web server is Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Service Pack 2. 

 

They are both running IIS version 6.0.
