Hello.
Since some days, the archiving of mailboxes from our MS Exchangeserver (2003 and 2010) fails with event id 3230.
It affects more and more servers and I followed already the hints given in the Event ID text (acces rights, hidden mailbox, etc).
Maybe someone can help me out...
Thanks & best regards,
SK

What version of outlook are you running ? if its outlook 2007 sp2 make sure you have the Required hotfix installed .
Remove old Mapi profies from outlook which are not in use.

Hello after following the article
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH35774
(deleting mapisvc.inf) and a server reboot, i found the task starting. But after a while, a lot of Outllok profiles are created (see screenshot) in the mail setings of the EV server.
The Registry Key "Closest GC" and "DS Server" have been already set...
Can those profiles be ignored or do they proove some misconfiguration for EV somewhere....?

Those are profiles created by Ev system mailbox. , you dont need to create worry about them .

You have mentioned that the profile are getting created automatically, that means the MAPI connectivity is there.
Can you try to run the archival in manual mode for a user and see what is happening?
Is user is able to archive mails mannually?
Please verify that the store and index locations are out of backup mode. If the its in backup mode the archival will not happen.

Hello and thank you for your support.
The following workaround has worked so far:
- Stop all EV Serives
- Search for mapisvc.inf in c:\Program Files, c:\Program Filesx86, C:\windows \system32\,
C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and delete it when found.
- Run C:\Windows\System32\Fixmapi.exe
- Restart EV Services
Thanks for your support..
