BCC with envelope Journaling

All -

We have EV and DA on v8 SP4 with Envelope journaling enabled on exchange 2003. Our users want to see the "BCC" line from the items retrieved from the search. We do not see this option in the DA search results (we see only "FROM", "TO", "CC") nor when we export the items out to PST and open the PST in outlook ("BCC Field") is greyed out.

Do we not have DA configured correctly or is this expected behavior?

TIA.

Be careful when explicitly searching Bcc recipients.  Exchange 2003 envelope journal messages will not classify recipients as Bcc.  As JesusWept2 points out they are undisclosed and are searchable via different index tags (but are including when searching all recipients).

You should be able to see these recipients when previewing messages in DA - they should be listed in the message preview pane under Bcc.  If not I suggest you ask the question in the Discovery Accelerator forum.

When you export the items to PST they will not contain the Bcc as this is the P2 item of the journal report that is being exported - and this doesn't contain Bcc's (in any Exchange current version).

MS did release a post SP2 hotfix to improve the information within the envelope header - not sure if this was rolled into a later security update:
