Somebody told me that the new BE 2010 is no more able to backup shares on "non Windows servers", so that without the agent.
I was really surprised to listen to this and very happy to discover that this is not true. Starting i.e. from this customer case:
EV Agent and Vault Store on a NetApp CIFS share. Until the use of BE 12.5 everything works but should it do it with the 2010 release?
Yes of course. The only thing it happen is the warning related to the absence of the agent but the one installed on BE (or EV) server is used.
I've also tried to backup other shares exposed on NetApp and on a Linux+SAMBA servers. They works
