Can we migrate placeholder using FSAUtility.exe -pm -s \\source -d \\destination where Placeholder Service is not running on Source server?

Basically we had some registry corruption in source server which is now beyond repair and therefore EV Filter server is not loading.

How can we migarte those Placeholders to another server where placeholder service is not available in source server?

The source doesn't need to be online, and the destination doesn't need a placeholder service.. but my article is about restore, -pm is migrate placeholders, right?

You can read the list of requirements here:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO37836

The existance of the Placeholder Service or even if it runs does not seem to be a pre-requisite
however the server or location will need to be targeted by EV before you move it, so it cannot be a cold move to a new server that EV does not know about

But i guess the question is, why would you not want the PHS service installed since the shortcuts just won't work?
