Change index locations after upgrading to EV10.2 before archiving starts?

We will be upgrading from EV9.3 to EV10.2 soon. We are thinking it might be logical to have the 64-bit indexes on a separate drive from the 32-bit indexes.

Is this as easy as post upgrade closing of 32 bit index locations and adding the new locations for 64-bit, before the first scheduled archive run?

By default all the 32bit indexes will no longer be written to when you upgrade, so if either right before you upgrade or right after you close all those locations and open new ones the 64 bit indexes will be created there.
