Client-driven PST Migration help! ++++Failed to convert network path

Hi All,

I'm struggling to get a PST migration project kicked off.  Here's the setup...

I've 2 AD Forests, each with a single domain, and a 2 way Forest Trust in place.

Users logon to domain abc.com in Forest A, Mailboxes (linked mailboxes) are located in Forest B in domain ad.local.  The EV Server (9.02) is also located in ad.local.  Users are running Outlook 2010 and have the EV client-plugin installed (9.0.2).

The EV Service account is added to the local administrators group on all workstations in abc.com, I can connect to the c$ share on workstations in abc.com from the EV server logged in as the EV service account on ad.local.

The PST Holding share "PSTHolding" is on a server fs-8 in ad.local, Everyone has write access to this share and I can connect to the share as a user logged onto abc.com and create and delete files in the share.

The PST Holding folder is specified in the Site setting on the EV Admin console.

Going through the EV_Client_Log all seems to be ok until this point...

The above is repeated every time I launch Outlook.

I can see the PC TEST under the Computers container under Personal Storage Management on the EV admin console.

Any advice/suggestions would be great!!

Thanks,

Neil

In client machine find

Under HKCU\Software\KVS\Enterprise vault\client  --  LastPSTSearch - Delete it.

Close Outlook

Delete that key

Start Outlook

Wait some time and see what happens.

If I remember correctly the client is using a Windows API call to convert the absolute path in to a UNC type path... but not sure whether it will prevent the migration or not.  Have you discussed this with Symantec Support at all?

Working for cloudficient.com

Hi All,

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately neither worked.  I can confirm the IIS settings match those of the tech article and deleting the registry key and reloading Outlook resulted in the same error "Failed to convert network".

I've a case open with support however they've not come back to me yet.

Thanks,

Neil

Keep pushing at support, I know it can take some time, but you are paying for it.

Last time I had an issue I send a mail every day to contact me and they did.
