Before you start, make sure you check if the virtual environment is up to specs for performance. I believe there are some guidelines for running a virtual EV environment.

Having said that: I've never tried it, but this would be my approach:

- Put EV in read-only mode and make a backup (just to be safe)

- P2V the passive node, making sure you connect any storage LUN's as Virtual in VMware.

- do a failover to the virtual node, check functionality

- P2V the remaining node

- Exit read-only mode.

Hope this helps. I've set up and converted plenty of MS clusters on VMware, and that should not be the biggest issue.

Just a thought, but wouldnt you just break the cluster, then do a data only DR to the VM?

Data only DR is covered in the admin guides
