Cross forest Evault configuration.

Dear Team,

Below is the queries and need information on this.

1. Can we configure Enterprise vault in cross forest ?

2. Exchange 2010 / 2013 in Forest A and Evault on Forest B for email and file server archving ?

3. DO evault support Exchange 2012 Sp1 ?

4. Can We add evault url in Exchange SSL certificate ?

5. Ports need to be open for SQL, Outlook clients and Exchange ?

6. Does it support WIndows 2012 R2 Hyper-V ?

Yes, EV can be configured for cross forest archiving.  See:

Domain/Forest Trust is required in order to archive mailboxes on an Exchange Server in another Windows Server forest.

As  for Exchange 2013 SP1, yes, as long as you are EV 10.0.4 you can archive it. See the compatibility doc.

Don't know.

 

5. Ports need to be open for SQL, Outlook clients and Exchange ?

Yes, Enterprise Vault needs to be able to connect to AD, SQL and Exchange, in order to do archiving, and retrieval. Additionally end-users will need access to EV too (via HTTP)

 

6. Does it support WIndows 2012 R2 Hyper-V ?

No. The Compatibility Guide lists 2012 R2 as pending.
