Hi,
Currently single EV Server archiving 10,000 mailboxes and journaling as well, how can we split out this to 2 x EV Server to spread the load?
EV Version 10.0.3
Many Thanks

Roughly..
Install second EV server
Create new Vault Store & local partition folder
Move Archive 'some' of the archives from current server to new server

And, to add to Rob's entry, move the archives using archive shuttle, because using ev move archive is too slow.

There are two Exchange 2010 DAG Group, 5000 users in each Exchange.
So if we use Archive Stuttle to move 5000 users (2nd Exchange server) archive from existing EV to New EV and then once all archives are moved, we move the archiving task for the 2nd Exchange server to the new EV Server in order to keep the Storage Service and Archiving Task local to same EV server?
Many Thanks

Hello EV007,
You can also configure NewEV (ie EV02) already.
That will start archiving then for the users, but will use MSMQ to archive the items in the archives hosted on EV01. The move archive process will correct that if I am not mistaken. Rob probably can tell you more on how this exactly functions.

So we can have archiving task in both EV1 and EV2 targeted for the same Exchange server?
Thanks

EX2010 and EV, you target server (edited from previous) but only the active database.
During Exchange mailbox archiving, a mailbox archiving task is associated with each mailbox server. The mailbox archiving task processes only the active copies of the mailbox databases that reside on the mailbox server. Enterprise Vault does not archive from passive database copies.
if you have 2 servers, you could think about hosting an active db on each with 5000 users.
not sure on having 1 server and 2 ev servers.
