Customize EV outlook button for disabled user

Hi All,

Currently we are using EV server 8.0 SP4 and for EV client 7.5, wanna clarify whether  is there any tricky way to customize EV outlook button for disabled user instead of only shows the "search vault" button ? Eg: want to show the "archive explorer" button together with "search Vault" button in Outlook.

Your ideas/suggestion highly appreciated.

Regards,

Madey

No, there is not a way to do that BUT what you could do is use EVPM to create a folder, name that folder ArchiveExplorer and set the url to be the Archive Explorer address.

It would look something like this.

[DIRECTORY]

DIRECTORYCOMPUTERNAME = OURSERVER

SITENAME = Site1

[mailbox]

DISTINGUISHEDNAME = /O=ACME/OU=DEVELOPER/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=SUES

[Folder]

Name = \ArchiveExplorer

URL = http:\\evserver\enterprisevault\archiveexplorerui.asp

You don't have to user EVPM, you can do it manually if you want.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your reply, so, if user want to explore his/her items, user need to open IE and paste the URL : http:\\evserver\enterprisevault\archiveexplorerui.asp .....am i right ?

Kind of, but what Tony is suggesting is you just have a folder in outlook called Archive Explorer that has it's default home page set to their AE URL, so when they click the folder in outlook it opens up AE within outlook It's a good solution

I've seen that done a couple of times, and you can do the same thing for search.asp.  There's a blog for that.
