DA Client: Disconnected from report server

Hello all,

DA Configuration and Customer database are on SQL-server X.domain.eu.com

SQL reportserver is on Y.domain.eu.com

When using the DA-client in x.domain.eu.com, clicking on Reports, it shows 'Disconnected from report server'

Following a sql-query from another post (SELECT * FROM tblConfiguration WHERE ConfigurationID = '949'), the value in field Val is the correct server. It shows http://Y.domain.eu.com/Reportserver

Is there anything else that can be checked? I've asked the user to check the setting also in the DA-client (CTRL+clickon Configuration, then show hidden settings, then check servername.

Does the client need to be installed new?

Any other thing to check?

Thanks.

Gertjan,

Regards. Gertjan

Does it work from Y.domain.eu.com

Hello Liam,

Not sure. In y.domain.eu.com, we do not have DA. I'll check to see if I can get the DA-client on a machine in that domain.

I ask because I want to see if it is a cross domain issue. Maybe it is something related to the trust levels.

It could also be that the user does not have the correct permission to ru reports because unless you grant the access they cant run the feature

We get the same error message when running the client from the y.domain.eu.com

What MIGHT be the issue is the following:

When uploading the reports, I could only get this going by entering the location for the sql-server as follows: servername.domain.eu.com/Reportserver.

When opening this page in a browser (from either domain), I see an ftp-like listing of the directories. When we need to access the reports (from Exchange, EV, AD etc), we goto http://servername/reports, which shows http://servername/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx when loaded.

The DA-reports, I can see when going to their location, which is :

http://servername/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ItemPath=%2fCRS+Reports%2fSymantec+EnterpriseVault%2fACC+Bank%2fDiscovery+Accelerator+Reports%2fReport+Templates%2fen-US&ViewMode=List

Following the links, this goes via:

Home > CRS Reports > Symantec EnterpriseVaultNAME OF CUSTOMER > Discovery Accelerator Reports > Report Templates >

I assume there is a mismatch between what the DA-client expects, and where the templates are. I am (unfortunately or unfortunately, not sure yet) no SQL-admin, I am not really aware on how to configure this properly. Should I try uploading the reports again, and leave them wherever they get placed on the reporting server? Is it possible to adjust the entry in the database, so the client knows where to get the reports?

Thanks.

I've re-uploaded the reports to the reporting server. This time, I left them in the default location. We now do not have the 'disconnected' anymore.

I've asked a DA-user to check, and will update when I have more information from him.
