Daily Reboot

EV 6.0 w/sp3

We cannot enable mailboxes for archiving without rebooting the EV server every day. Otherwise, it hangs on the enable dialog box (the dialog that has the skip option on it). At that point, EV admin is hung. Can't cancel the enable, can't go forward. We have waited as long as 2 hours before rebooting. We have a scheduled task to restart the Admin service each day....should I change that to just reboot the server every day?


Any suggestions on how to overcome this? No relevant entries in event logs.

Run a dtrace on the agentclientbroker and mmc. Post the relevant results back here.

One other thing to try is to do a search for mapisvc.inf on the EV server. Make sure the largest file on the server is in the system32 folder. If it is not copy it there and run fixmapi.exe also in the system32 folder. There will be no output from this utility.

also check your mapi32.dll version...smaller is better in my experience. Lessee, also be sure that the local intranet server list in IE contains the proper names of all the EV servers...and um...hmmm...you shouldn't need to reboot if you're doing your daily restart of services for the backups. If you restart services when you're hung, and the app still doesn't return a successful enable, then the problem isn't mapi.
