event 6643:

Delete Vault failed
Reason: <0x80040e2f>
Vault Name: PTVCCR01
Vault Store: PTVMBXVS01
Vault Id: 1C1E6061628DE974F900DBAAA0A4042501110000PTVEVVS01

event 8390:

The EnterpriseVault.DirectoryConnection object reported an error.

CDirectoryConnectionObject::DeleteArchive .\DirectoryConnectionObject.cpp [lines {2860,2868,2870}], built Mar 14 10:55:02 2011

when storage service is restarted I get the following error.

needless to say that the archives I deleted manually are still there, staring at me, and not getting deleted.

OK so the quick and easy way is just to delete the entry from VaultInterest in the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database, the correct way is to delete the case.

I believe in EV10 SP1 you can remove the user from the VI through the VAC
but for now manually remove from the vaultinterest table or delete the case, they are your only two options

Would really need a DTrace of storage delete as the storage service is starting

Are you running Discovery Accelerator?  I get that when I attempt to delete an archive which is in use by DA.

did you manage to resolve it?

Well if it's DA it's typically coupled with another event It's usually because the archive is in the vault interest table, meaning they are in an existing DA search and for it to be removed you have to delete the da search and then this will unregistered the archive Did you ever run the DTrace?

customer restrictions etc...

I'll try and remove the searches from DA, if this will not help - do you think stopping DA services and restart storage service will do the job as well?
