Hello dinesh,

The Mailbox policy handles the archiving setting for the mailboxes, the Desktop policy handles the user experience and interaction with the Enterprise Vault environment through the Add-In, Vault Cache and Virtual Vault.

Here are some technotes:

Defining Exchange Server mailbox archiving policies
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO57996

Defining desktop policies in Exchange Server archiving
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO57014

I hope this helps.

.. and of course you can have multiple of each ... but each user can have only ONE applied to them (via provisioning)

I think you should refer to Tonys earlier suggestion and look at seeing if the company you work for can get you in symantec lead Training for Enterprise Vault.

You can read a general overview about training here:
http://www.symantec.com/en/in/products-solutions/training/

and you can read more about the training paths here:
