Disaster Recovery - Enterprise Vault cluster on Windows 2008

I want to Install Enterprise Vault on 2 node Windows 2008 Active/Passive cluster, where one node will be located on the primary data centre and another node in the secondary data centre. The Enterprise Vault SAN Storage (Centera) will be replicated via MirrorView replication to the secondary data centre.

Question is; will Windows 2008 Standard support nodes in 2 data centres i.e. multi-site cluster?

Also, does Enterprise Vault support Windows 2008 Enterprise edition - the compatibility guide does not say but worth checking if someone has deployed it.

Hi,

Windows 2008 Standard does not have cluster support. 

Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition is fine.

you can use 2008 standard with VCS, witch is better that microsoft cluster.

VCS= veritas cluster server

Yes, Windows Server 2008 x64 R2 or R2 SP1 Enterprise is supported for EV.

It's depend on OS version (x64 or x32) and SP(SP1 or R2) running on which version of EV(EV9 or 10)... If you are talking about Window 2008x32 clusteing then NO. If you are talking about Window 2008x64 SP2 then YES for EV8 or 9(not 10).

So EV 10 does not support Windows 2008 R2 x64 enterprise?

EV 10 is supported on Windows Server 2008 x64 edition R2 and R2 SP1 (using WOW64).

It is listed in the Compatibility document on page 12.

Thanks Tony - I just wanted to confirm because the matrix doesnt state "enterprise" version.
