Disaster recovery and archived items

Hello everyone,

Just a short question about disaster recovery and archived items.

Suppose an environment has "Immediate Archiving" turned on.
During the day the Enterprise Server burns out and is unavailable.

The Archive store is located on a LUN (SAN), the SQL database is on a seperate clustered SQL server.

What happens with the shortcuts which are created on the day that the Enterprise Server crashed?
Are they orphaned, or will they be available like normal after a recovery of the entire Enterprise Vault system??
Nothing happened to the data on the LUN and with the SQL database, or am I mistaken?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you.

In your scenario the Vault Store partition is NOT on the EV Server correct?

If the Vault Store data and SQL databases are intact you will be able to recover ok after you DR the EV Server.

If you loose the Vault Store Data before you have a back up of it the shortcuts that point to items not able to be restored will be orphaned.

Does that help?

Yes it does, thank you.

The partition is NOT on the EV server.
So what you tell is exactly what I expected.
