Hi does by default Enterprise Vault since version 8 also archive the deleted items in the user mailboxes ?
Because My Exchange Server currently low in disk space and I want to make sure that I can still retain the users deleted items for compliance purpose before I ask everyone to empty their deleted items.

Look at the article.
In the
Exchange Mailbox Policy -> Advanced Settings -> Exchange Archiving General Settings
there is a setting called
"Archive deleted items"

Refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO37206

Also note that "for compliance purposes" you would need Journaling, and not Mailbox archiving.

Yes I already turn on Exchange Server Journal mailbox which is archived as well.

it seems that the deleted items is not archived by default.
Can you show me how to set it on please ?

So why do you need archiving of deleted items for compliance purposes then, if you already have journaling in place?

Michel,
In case the manager would like to know what the user deleted before the next run of Archival task run, then aeverything can be resotred.
