Does symantec enterprise vault support on Vmware

Hello,

 

I have planned to install symantec enterprise vault. and plan solution for enterprise vault to Vmware image and use RAW device data on Storage for keep archive mail.

 

Have anybody use this solution for this software? Is it work?

Yes EV supports being on a VM, the version of ESX depends of the version of EV. Compat guide is here:

As with anything virtualised make sure you spec it out right, which now I have typed that is true of physicals too smiley

At my previous job, we went from physical (older hardware) to new ESX, having virtualized all our EV-servers (Mail-archiving, Journal-archiving and DA-servers) to VM-machines.

Indexes and storage were on a NAS.

Performance went up with about 35 to 50%

This was due to the underlying esx hardware being a lot better.

In my company also we have EV on virtual server and it works fine.
