EV 10 SQL Database volume restructure

Hi,

We have EV SQL databases including SQL system databases in H:\ drive which is currently a spanned Volume in windows 2008 R2.

We would like to restructure that H:\ drive by removing spans, can we do the following

Stop all EV services

Stop SQL service

Copy H:\* into a temp location

Delete H:\ spanned volume

Recreate H:\ using another physical disk

Copy back H:\* from temp location

Start SQL

Start EV

That should work fine?

Many Thanks

Sure,

You can also add the new disk and copy the databases to the new volume. This will have a better fall-back senario as this will keep the 'old' location intact.

See this technote how to copy/move databases:
