EV 10

Hello

so EV 10 is upon us, EV 9 didnt last long did it?!?

we have 3 servers

1 in london to archive from 2 london based exchange clusters

1 up north to archive from 2 northern based exchange clusters

1 SQL back end

all running server 2003 enterprise edition 32 bit.

hp ProLiant DL385 G6 2400MHZ AMD 6 core processors

what OS is the minimum supported by EV 10?

what is minimum version of SQL server supported by EV10?

does it have to be 64 bit to take advantage of 64 bit indexing engine?

does it class all current indexes as legacy 32 bit?

will a rebuild of legacy index allow 64 bit indexing?

if we move archive between sites will this recreate index allowing for 64 bit indexing?

we have a lot of MACs does this mean there are full extensions for client like PC version?

sorry for all the questions, we got the upgrade available email yesterday and the symantec site doesnt have much info about system requirements other than processor and ram info

thanks!

Do you mean the EV server?  Yes, it has to be 64 bit.

does it class all current indexes as legacy 32 bit?

Your current indexes are left in their original format until you choose to upgrade them.

will a rebuild of legacy index allow 64 bit indexing?

Yes, there is a process to convert them to 64 bit

if we move archive between sites will this recreate index allowing for 64 bit indexing?

Yes, because moving the archive will cause the index to be rebuilt

Mac client is basically the same.  Here is the blurb from the release notes:

The Enterprise Vault Client for Mac OS X that is included with this release supports Outlook 2011 for Mac (version 14.0.0 or later) as well as Entourage 2008 (version 12.1.5 or later) and Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition.

Entourage 2004 is no longer supported.
