Hello,

You license EV, not the hardware. As long as the EV version you use supports the new hardware, you're good. The EV license (assuming mailbox archiving) is based on the amount of mailboxes you archive. If you do that with 1 or 10 servers is irrelevant.

Regards. Gertjan

Thank you.  Is it as simple as copying the installed licenses file over to the new server.  Will that work or I will need a new license file.

As Sandine says, just copy the SLF file in the EV installation folder. Restart the Admin service, the license will get installed. (you will get a folder 'installed licenses').

When you're installing on the new server, there will also be a page in the wizard that prompts you for the SLF file. And if you somehow miss that page, then follow Gertjan's method and drop it in the EV install folder.

It really is that easy. EV is not without its pain points, but license management is not among them.
