EV 11.01 drops all shares on the server for the duration of the restore

Hi all,

I have a continuing problem with EV 11.01 dropping all shares on the file server while restoring archived files! (Win2008R2)

I have built a new test file server Win2012R2 installed the latest patches etc.. created new shares on it, moved 20GB of data for test archive.

Now, when I restore this new server also drops all shares for the duration of the restore!!!

The files are about 1.7GB each. I can do one or many and the problem is still there.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Thanks in advance

Is there anything in the windows logs showing what's going on?

Hi AndrewB,

Nada, the logs are clean on the target server and the EV Server. Tried the Application, System, and Enterprise Vault. Also checked the desktop logs and still nada!

Cheers

make sure that your FSA tasks in EV arent archiving at the same time you're trying to restore. also, you might need to explore different things like your network settings (jumbo frames, duplex, gbit on one side vs 100mbit on the other side, etc) and whatnot because there's probably something else wrong and EV is just bringing it to light when you try to restore a file.

Do you happen to have NIC teaming enabled.
