EV 7 Storage service problem

Matt_Schu

We are running EV 7 SP4 and we are getting the following event id's on the server.  I don't know what they mean and this just started happening out of the blue.  Also, when we search the archive and select an e-mail to view we recieve the following "Failed to get the document from the Storage Service".  Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Please see this blog: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/extract-item-ecm

That will use the API to fetch the item, and if it fails it will give you a better idea on whats going on.  I expect the saveset is missing from the storage device, but use the hta script I wrote to verify that.

Hi Wayne,

I checked out the blog and tried it out but I am not sure what this is exactly doing.  If the saveset is missing what would happen when I run the hta script?  Also, how would I fix the issue?

Thanks,
Matt

its not a fix for the issue, its firstly to see if EV can open the item or not, whether its missing, maybe its corrupt etc
its just a secondary utility to see if any other facet of EV can open the item
otherwise you will have to hunt the item down on disk , see if it exists, see if you can open it etc
