Good Morning All,

I have a very strange issue... Maybe I am missing some configuration.

Before installing EV 8.0, I checked if SQL 2005 reports are running, YES.

Once I install EV 8.0 Reporting, the SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER), Stopped. If I try to start the srvice manually, it returns and error, could not start the service as it did not responsd in a timely fashion. Event Viewer: -

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Report Server (MSSQLSERVER)
Event Category: Management
Event ID: 107
Date: 5/24/2009
Time: 10:21:40 AM
User: N/A
Computer: GFHARCFSPROD
Description:
Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot connect to the report server database
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The service is configured with LSA.

I am not able to complete the Enterprise Vault Reports Configuration as it fails with the error.

Please help.

Well, to be frank, I missed a configuration.

It was, the Vault Service Account needs to be given the following item-level role definitions before the installation of EV Reporting Services: -

Through the Internet browser window GOTO : - http://LOCALHOST/Reports

1. Browser; and
2. Content Manager

And then Configure the SQL Reporting which I missed.

Once i gave these rights, and configured the SQL Reporting, the issue got resolved.

Thanks for your inputs anyways.

Regards,

GauravAditya

Wondering if this technote would apply here, ignore the errors, but make the changes as per article workarounds - support.veritas.com/docs/317967
