EV 8.0 & virtualization via MS Hyper-V

Hi,

Does anyone have any info on the combination EV 8.0 <-> MS Hyper-V ?
One of my customers is a possible EV rpospect but is very tight to Microsoft solutions, including virtualization, i.e. virtualization platform used is MS Hyper-V

I know that Hyper-V is not mentioned in the EV compatibility list, thus not officialy supported by Symantec, but is there any experience in the field regarding this combination? Or ... is it possible that Hyper-V support in in the pipeline for EV?

Many thanks!

Rudy

Surely Huper/V will be support in the future by EV, but I think you must at least 6 or 12 months.
It's a new architecture, then I think support process is too long

This is not concrete by any means but from speaking with some people un-offically it is not on  the road map at present.

HOWEVER if this is important for the end customer and a deal may be on the table, I would recommend that you speak to your Symantec Account Manager to speak with Product Management in regards this and see what they say.

Great Kopfjager!
In my mind I think Hyper-V is a new product that Symantec will be support in the future!

Thanks!

I was incorrect previously ;)

It is supported in EV8 as Kopfjager rightly mentions.

Nicola this is not something for the future it is something that is here now ;)

And even if it wasn't supported....
Virtual Environments are designed to just act like physical one's... I don't think there would be problems...
However, of course support for a VM environment is always better than not.
