EV 8 Export email to PST and remove from archive

We are going through an email server cosolidation and the new systems will not support EV so I need to unarchive all of the archived email to move to the new site. If I would simply export to the existing mailbox I would over run the limit for the Exchange DB (Standard version) Thought was to export to PST and then pull back in on the new site.

I can export to the PST fine but it leaves the archived item in the mailbox, I would like it to remove the item from the mailbox. The export function gives no option for this, is there a way to remove on export to PST? If not is there a way to remove all archived items from mailboxes after I have completed the export?

Just run shortcut expiry with 0 days against the users mailbox and then delete the archive through the VAC?

Interesting approach and one angle I had not thought of, guess that is what these forums are for. Let me poke around the Admin console and see if I can formulate a way to get this done.

I was hung up on the EV console and EV utilities not giving any easy way to "Export and Remove" or just remove archived items from mailbox, seems like that should be in there but if not expiring the items is the way to go

Just for clarification you are referring to the Policy for Exchange, Mailbox, Shortcut Deletion Tab on where to set this
