The environment is EV9 SP2.

Does Enterprise Vault have support for archiving Microsoft Lync 2010 messages?

Are we able to export the instant messages into an EML or MHT format and archive them into a FSA archive?

Honestly i'm not sure how their stuff works, typically the way ive seen it done in the past (like with IM Manager and stuff like that) you create a shared archive in EV, and then its the third party software or appliance that uses the EV API to take the items directly from the source and push them in to the archive without needed to use FSA

The way you are describing is like how SMTP journaling works, i.e. you just create an event sync that pushes out to eml files on the file system, then an FSA like process comes in and archives the messages and deletes them

would suggest contacting those guys, it was actually Nathan Clarke on this forum who brought it up, he is a member of the Customer Focus Team and deals a lot with third party vendors and such

i'm familiar with actiance and the former IM manager product. IM Manager used the EV API to push data that were created from IM conversations directly into EV. it could have been done in batch format or in more of a real-time stream depending on the config. with actiance's product, it does much much more than just allowing EV to archive IM's. i've been told that if that's all you're looking for you can use Lync's built-in capabilities to do it and point EV to archive the folder or mailbox depending on how it's configured. in the future, actiance is supposed to have EV API integration which will be really cool. but again, that's only 1 small feature out of the big product set that they have.
