Is there any way, with powershell, to duplicate the process used to vault emails?
When a person leaves our company, our team gets a ticket to vault their emails. What we mean by that is, we manually trigger the archiving task on the appropriate mailbox server targetting the user, so that all their emails are moved to the vault. We then disable vaulting on that user account.
All of the rest of our deprovisioning steps around this can be automated with Powershell, but so far the EV piece is a stumbling block because of the manual nature of the task.
What we would like to be able to do is:
1. Trigger the provisioning task
2. Trigger the syncrhonization piece of the Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task for Mailboxserver, targetting a single user account
3. Then trigger a run of the Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task for Mailboxserver for the single user account
4. Disable archiving for the single user account
We woudl then proceed with our other processes, like disabling the user mailbox, etc.
Does anyone know of a way to do this? Or is this possible in EV10, which we will be upgrading to later this year?

No it's not possible ...
You might want to check out our Archive Leavers tool however.

Is there anything in EV10 for any of this?

No, you can't use powershell for that even in EV 10
Does you leavers provisioning group monitor a specific AD group? Should be as simple as moving the user to that AD group, schedule provisioning to run right before your archive window, that night when schedule archiving runs the user gets archived.
You will still need to disable the user manually.
As Rob said, you could look at QuadroTechs Leavers tool. They have a free and paid version:

Nope - nothing different in EV 10 for this. Symantec provide an API that 3rd parties can use... and that's how we do it.

Archive Leavers looks like what we need. Upon installation, it is asking for an SQL instance and the EV SQL instance. Does it need SQL local on the EV server? Or is it just wanting to set up a new database in SQL for it's own use? I can request that from our DBA team if need be.

I would recommend you contact them directly or ping Rob Wilcox and\or Wayne. They will be able to directly assist you.
