I am running EV 9.0.2 32bit on a physical server. Can I P2V EV to a 64bit virtual server and then upgrade to 64bit EV 9 (if neccesary) and then upgrade to EV 10 on the virtual server?
Asked another way: can 32bit EV 9 run on 64bit hardware? If so, do I upgrade to 64bit EV 9 before upgrading to EV 10, or can I upgrade directly from EV 9 32bit to EV 10 on the 64bit hardware?
thank you.

I guess you could keep the server name the same and just not have the servers online at the same time, but I don't see what the big issue is. You would only have to update the DNS entry for the EV alias.
Honestly, I think it is more work for you. First you are going to have to move EV 9 to 64 bit hardware and then upgrade to EV 10.
With the Migration wizard you can go straight to EV 10 on the new 64 architecture.

yes, EV 9 can run on 64 bit hardware but I think a better option is to use the Server Settings Migration Wizard and go straight from EV 9 32 bit to EV 10 64 bit.

I would of thought it would be easier if I could upgrade EV on the same box. I want to keep the same server name. I assumed a P2V of the physical box would be simpler than dealing with DNS aliases.
