EV Exchange Mailbox Task A1 Queue not going down

I have a problem whereby Enterprise Vault isn't archiving mail for the past week or so.

Having looked at the MS queues there appears to be 58,000 messages in the A1 queue.

The event log is littered with Event id 2216 and dtrace highlights an error such like "There is not enough Storage to complete this operation."

I am on EV 10.0.4 and have Exchange 2013 CU7 running on a Windows 2012 R2 server hosted on VM Ware.

To be honest things haven't really been the same since we moved from having Exchange 2007 on a physical server.

you can check the size of your MSMQ quotas and increase them to 8 or 16GB to relieve the backlog. best practice calls for 8GB MSMQ quota.

also wanted to make sure you were aware of these per the latest compatibility guide with regards to EV 10.0.4 and Exch2013 CU7:

Requires Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 with appropriate hotfix (see http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH215093 on
the Symantec Support website), or later service pack.

Requires all recommended Interim Updates for Exchange 2013 CU6 and CU7. These Interim Updates are
available on request from Microsoft, and you should quote KB 3011579 in your request. See
https://support.microsoft.com/kb/3011579 and the following technical note on the Symantec Support website:
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH226311.

Thankyou for your reply, I have asked Microsoft for the Incremental Update but they wanted me to apply CU 8.

My exchange admin guy says it's too soon to go to cu 8, it's practically an uninstall and re-install and so not trivial.

I had already tried increasing the queue storage space, is it an idea to re-install the msmq software?
