you can use CIFS for your vault store partitions but it's generally not recommended for the indexes. other than that, pros/cons arent anything really specific to EV. i've seen hundreds of environments and i cant say that one method is any better or worse. whatever you do, invest in your EV design and architecture from the beginning. it's a lot easier to do it right the first time.
