EV and NetApp

I'm being asked to move Ev storage from an NTFS LUN to CIFS on a NetApp device

I'm reading documentation to try and find the answers to the followiung question - what's the difference between Network Share and Netapp Device?

They both present to EV as a drive letter - am I missing something?

Hi bluesteel,

A NetApp Device has some features that a Network Shares doesn't have, such as Snaplock. If you select Netapp Device and you continue with the wizard, you will see more settings. If you are going to move the storage to a CIFS share, you should use a UNC path to the Netapp filer rather than a mapped drive in the Windows server. I hope this helps.
