EV user crashing Exchange 2003

Rican

Hello, we have a single Exchange 2003 server for our organization.  When EV user (when archiving or searching), reaches a certain mailbox(undetermined), it brings our exchange server down.  Below is the error we receive.  We have turned off archiving in order to have a working mail server in the meantime.  Please reserve any comments about the infrastructure as I am new here and am trying to improve it but it will take time.  ;)

Which Enterprise Vault Version are you running?

I highly recommend opening a case with Symantec for this one!!

Michelz, thanks.  EV ver 7.5  We have contacted Symantec twice already about this and they are as dumbfounded as we are.  We thought to post here just in case anyone had experienced the same problem.  Thanks.

I've read on a similar thread that the AV Software was causing this trouble, and it was resolved once AV Software was removed.

Is there an AV Software installed?

Cheers

On the mail server?  Yes, there is.  Symantec Client Security.  I don't know if they would allow that server not to have AV installed.

Hi

Same eventlog entry, and even same AV Software (Symantec):

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_22392981.html

I would give it a try to test it...

You can install the software again after the test, but I would test it for sure!

Cheers

Michel, thank you.  I will see if I can actually build a case to have Symantec AV removed from this server.  Thank you for your help.
