Hi,
I have the same issue as in this post "https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/ev-11-pst-migration-fails-rpc-server-unavailable".
While migrating PST Files into a mailbox the import randomly fails. The State of the affected PST after the migration tasks is finished is:
PST migration of \\CUSTOMERFSP03FS2\J$\groups\00040205\KEMP.pst: Error 0x80004005
A dtrace shows me this error:
258283 12:41:20.813 [5112] (PstMigratorTask) <MigratorThread:5428> EV-H {PstLogFile.LogError} Could not get PST migration status of PST \\CUSTOMERFSP03FS2\J$\groups\00040205\KEMP.pst: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)
258284 12:41:20.813 [5112] (PstMigratorTask) <MigratorThread:5428> EV-H {PstLogFile.LogError} PST migration of \\CUSTOMERFSP03FS2\J$\groups\00040205\KEMP.pst: Error 0x80004005
I reproduced this error with 5 PST´s i´ve created from the same source outlook. I´ve copied them to the File server. The locate and collect tasks have been finished successfully. When i set the state to "Ready to migrate" again then the import will run again an if i´m lucky the import is sucessfull. But for some PST Fiels that seem to have no difference to others i´ve needed 5 tries.
The main problem is that the user get´s the message that the pst import was successfull and the contents seem to be imported successfully (archive is filled and shortcuts in the mailbox have been generated) but as an administrator i see the failed state and try to import the pst´files again. SO it seems to be a problem of the response. So the elements will be imported a few times.
We plan to import ~8TB PST Files. So i can´t handle the import if this issue persists. I thougt that i´t´s maybe related to this topic: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH76080 and already opeened the WMI Ports. But without success.
EV 11.01, Windows Server 2012 R2
Any Ideas?

Meanwhile Veritas support acknowledged that it´s a Bug in EV11. Unfortunately they do not plan to fix it in V11.

Can you ensure your pst holding folder is not being scanned by any Anti-Virus software. You might want to add it to AV exclusions

Hi Jimmy,
thank you for the answer. I´ve double checked the AV exclusions. The pst Holding Folder was in the Exclusion List - the PST temporary Folder not. I´ve prooved all Exclusions which are named in the Symantec KB Article. I have located, collected and migrated pst´s again but the error persists. Any more ideas?
