Hello all,

Issue most likely has happened because of index-disks being dismounted without previous warnings.

I now see in eventviewer
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Enterprise Vault
Event Category: Index Server
Event ID: 7264
Date: 3-6-2009
Time: 10:41:02
User: N/A
Computer: SAD4429
Description:
Abnormal error occurred

Error: The directory is not empty. [0x80070091]
Reference: CAltaVistaIndex/OAVI/ie
Index: 106A5768273522B458A913AFF8D15B67C1110000DMS/Volume:79830 (Journal Archief voor de VAD4121)
Info: E:\EVStorage\Indexes\Location1
106A5768273522B458A913AFF8D15B67C1110000DMS_7179719

Additionally same event other reports:
The AltaVista index is not open

The index is in a rebuilding state (actually choose Update).

Anyone an idea what to do (besides restoring a working copy and update that?)

Thanks.

Regards. Gertjan

Disk was not healthy. chkdsk has replaced securty descriptor on all files, checked security, re-applied, rebooted, now all is well.

The Index will show a status of 'Rebuilding' even when an Update is selected, so there is no need to restore the Index.

After thorough investigation, we found that the disks were marked as 'corrupt'

a chkdsk /f is running now, and fixing errors. One of the 'scary' things is that it is reporting:
replacing invalid security id with default security id for file xxxxxxxx

As soon as this is finished, I'll do a reboot, and check security on the specific folder and files.

Update will follow.

Regards. Gertjan
