Hello all,

In our demo environment, I moved databases succesfully from SQL2000 to SQL2008
I have seen a document that described to update statistics and rebuild indexes after moving from SQL2000 to SQL2005

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/281261.htm

Does the same apply to moving from SQL2000 to SQL2008?

Thanks.

Gertjan

I would say yes.  Also to add to that I would ensure the server is in native 2008 mode if indeed this is an option as in SQL 2005.  Reasons are for performance and people do note a marked increase in SQL performance when in native sql 2005 mode and not 2000 on SQL 2005 so I would say the same probably would apply.

Thanks Don for answer.
