Trying to EV8 Set Vault store backup mode from VAC, but it gets stuck saying "Updating Vault Stores backup mode ..." and nothing happens. No event logs or anything. Same with powershell script. It gets stuck.

Any idea please?

Have you run a DTrace?

Do you have a LOT of records in your Journal* tables in any of your vault stores?

Hello,

That is correct. However, seeing the enormous amount of items in the table, it can take some time (and I mean days, not hours) before that backlog is cleared.

You might want to open a case at support, and discuss with them on the best way to clear the backlog.

I forget exactly which version .. but this fixed in some flavour of EV 9 (where backup mode is MUCH faster and better at handling the large number items in tables like the journal archive table). I would suggest asking Symantec support.

Thanks Guys, i think its better to stop services, setup backup reg keys and then start services, take full backup, clear backup reg keys and restart services for the Journal archive table to clear. Once cleared VS should go to backup mode more easily?
