Hey guys,

Just a quick question,

I Need for a custommer to migrate from EV9 (W2K3) to EV11 (W2K12)

we prepare only W2K12 VM (in place of supported W2K8 R2 for 64 Bits migration) for final destination.

Is someone already try to perfom disaster recovery of EV9 W2K3 to W2K12 (juste before migrate to EV10/11) ?

It is not officially supported, but need to see if we can passed thourgh during few time before upgrading to EV10/11

Thx

EV 9 isn't supported so I doubt you could even install the EV binaries on W2K12 to do the DR.  What you could do is use the EV Server Settings Migration Wizard and upgrade you EV 9 to EV 10 on W2K12 then upgrade to EV 11.

EV9 currently is on Win2k3, let us know if it is a 32bit or 64bit system.

You can upgrade EV9 to 10.0.4. version 10.0.4 is supported on Win2k12.

Once you are on 10.0.4, you may go for Client upgrade and leave the sytem running for 2-3 days (do not go any migrate immediately)

after 2 day and after ensuring system is functional & stable, you can migrate 10.0.4 from Win2k3 to Win2k12 (see attached)

If you also have to migrate you SQL server, another attachment give you detailed steps for same.

let us know if that helps..

Hello there, thx for your answer,

We finnaly choose to use a temporary W2K8 VM to move to 64 bits, perform EV 120 upgrade then migrate to W2K12, and to EV 11. (We are running upgrade EV 10 right now)

Thx !
