EV9 not taking e-mail from Exchange 2010 journal account

Hi All,

So i've deployed EV 9.01 and it doesnt seem to be working, infact i have 2 separate issues but i'll deal with the exchange 2010 issue on this post.

The journal task is all setup and the settings are all correct, ran the 2 scripts as required on exchange 2010... but even though the task is running (not in report more) it doesnt seem to injest any emails... the only thing i can see in DTrace that is of consequence is:

You have hit the nail on the head with the analysis. The fact that it is being reported as disabled is in fact the reason why it is not processing any of the messages. Obviously the question is why.

1. Install Outlook SPY

2. Open the Journal Mailbox in Outlook

3. Select the mailbox root

4. Click on IMAPIFolder

5. Click on the Associated Contents tab

6. You should see an entry named IPM.EnterpriseVault.Filter.evsitealias. Double click on this

7. Find the propertytag named Archiving Enabled. Is this set to False?

If so that is the problem. On my test system this is set to true. When I set it to false and the mailbox is processed by the task it is reset back to true and I suspect that if you did the opposite and set it to true if it is false then this would be set back to false on next processing of the mailbox. Woth a shot though as a first try.

If that does not work then try zapping the hidden message. Just google and you will find a tech article on how to do this if you have not done it before.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply...

I used outlook spy and MFCMapi and neither show an entry for IPM.EnterpriseVault.Filter.evsitealias

I can't seem to get the addins working on Outlook 2007 on the server either, my client is 2010 and i cant find the delete hidden message option.

Any advice?

Thanks

you could just zap the mailbox, which is the quicker way of what paul was alluding to
