Hello all,
In the process to prepare for upgrading EV80SP4 to EV90SP2, deployment scanner 9 reports for the fileservers targeted:
At least one file server does not have .NET Framework 2.0.50727 SP2 installed.
.NET Framework 2.0.50727 SP2 is not installed on file server: servername.domain.name.
The previous deploymentscanner run from EV8 reports fileservers as being fine...
Should dotnet be reinstalled on the fileservers? Can it be ignored? Folderstructure indicates dotnet is installed on the fileservers.
Thanks.
Gertjan

At least one file server does not have .NET Framework 2.0.50727 SP2 installed.
I think "SP2" could be the key here.
Are you sure that SP2 is installed?
Cheers

According to this technote:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO28155
.net 2.0 is indeed required for 8.04

Hi,
Correct. what I mean to say is that dotnet2.0 IS on the fileservers, and that the deploymentscanner report from version 8 DOES report dotnet2.0 installed and functioning.
Nothing changed on the fileservers (except ofcourse the OS-patches), so should it not be ok?
If not, anyone knows what to check? Permissions on the .net folder?

Hi GertjanA,
How are you entering the File Server in the 9.0 Deployment Scanner? IE the FQDN or just the IP? If you are using just the IP address, try the FQDN to see if that reports the correct .NET version.
However, if that is not the case, you can also try re-registering the .NET version to see if that helps. Please see the following TechNote: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77739
Hope this helps!

Hi Chris,
I have re-installed deploymentscanner 8SP4. Ran that, it reports ASP just fine on the fileservers. Then installed deploymentscanner 9SP2, which reports dotnet 2.0 is not installed on the fileservers. Nothing changed. I tried both (ip and fqdn). I also tried to reregister asp, but since IIS is not installed on this machine, it throws an error on that. I assume it will function, as 8 reports dotnet to be fine, but am not sure.
