Hi Folks,

Keep receiving a message from Windows Data Execution Prevention app telling me that
"To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.
Name: EVConvertorSandbox Module
Publisher: Symantec Corporation"

Any idea what this is?
Using EV for File Server Archiving version 7.5.

Thanks
Gilly

Data Execution Prevention (DEP) error shuts down all or some Enterprise Vault Services
Exact Error Message
Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows
To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.
Name: 'Faulting Process Name'
Publisher: Symantec Corporation

Details:
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) errors most often occurs after re-starting the Enterprise Vault (EV) server and are the result of memory checks to help prevent malicious code from running on a system. Occasionally, DEP will determine that an EV process has accessed protected memory and will shut down the process.

The most common process affected is EVConverterSandbox.exe, however other processes may also be faulted. (Figure 1)

Figure 1

Resolution:

Two options are available for configuring DEP. Either option may be used to prevent DEP from interfering with EV operations:

Option 1:
Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only

Option 2:
Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:

To add the faulting process to the DEP exclusion list:

1. Right-click My Computer and click Properties.

2. Click the Advanced tab, then Settings button under Performance.

3. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab.

4. Click the Add button and browse to \Program Files\Enterprise Vault, click the executable that DEP closed and press Apply.

The EVConverterSandbox is the process that is responsible for converting items so they can be indexed.
