EVPlaceholderService.exe crash

Hello,

We have the Placeholder service that stops working when we start an archive job.
If there is no archiving task that runs the service works without problems.

We see the following event:

When running a DTrace on EvPlaceholderService, no trace of the service that stops.

Have you ever experienced a similar case?

- EV 12.2.2 on Windows Server 2012R2
- FSA Server in Windows Server 2012R2 with FSA Agent 12.2.3

Thank you so much !

Hello,

No idea, but could it be the difference between EV and FSA?

- EV 12.2.2 on Windows Server 2012R2
- FSA Server in Windows Server 2012R2 with FSA Agent 12.2.3

Hi,

Would probably need a case open to take a look at the logs.  Would want to have a Dtrace of EvPlaceholderService started on the file server.  Also, Dtrace the EvFsaArchivingTask process on the EV server started.  I would then recall an item from the file server before starting the archiving task to process.

From this we should be able to see what the task is doing at the time the process crashes on the file server.

If the process on the file server is having an issue it is most likely when attempting to create placeholders. Archiving files should only be copying the data from the file server.

Regards,

Patrick
