Emails automatically being moved to Archive by Enterprise Vault after a day

Hi Everyone,

I need help with a user who reported that his emails are automatically being moved to Enterprise Vault after a day.

All emails he receives in his Inbox are being archived the day after.

This is strange because we have a policy set for 30 days.

He also noted that when browsing in Archive Explorer, when he wants to move his email to his inbox, it hangs and takes a long time to process.

Thanks!

as Rob has implied, it seems as though a different policy has been applied to his mailbox either directly or via EVPM.

You can zap the mailbox and re-enable it.

Which version of the EV Outlook Add-in do you use?

You'll need the 'full' version, used to be called DCOM...  anyway, with that enabled you can check the properties of each of the folders, and see if any of them have been overridden from the defaults provided by the archiving policy.

Issue solved!

It had something to do with the user moving to a different OU and a different policy was being applied.

It was hard to trace because the user's archive was hanging and policies were hit and miss (sometimes blank). God knows who or what moved the user but I remembered about a policy that was similar to this archiving behaviour.

After AD replication and running provisioning task on the EV server where user's archive was located, proper policies were synced correctly.

Cheers!
